Full job description
Job Descriptions:
SUMMARY
Drives bus to transport passengers over specified routes according to time schedule.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Drives passenger vehicles ranging from 9-65 passenger capacity, consisting of pick-up and delivery of students with developmental disabilities to and from their homes/schools within Stark County;

Complies with all Ohio Motor Vehicle Laws, safety rules as established by the Ohio Department of Education and Board Transportation Policies and Procedures;

Reports delays or accidents;

Completes daily paperwork as per procedure, maintaining accurate records of all passengers transported;

Completes documentation of all incidents and accidents as they occur;

Performs bus safety pre and post-trip inspections as required by Law to assure vehicle is in proper working condition;

Maintains all safety equipment, and communicates all defects and maintenance needs;

Maintains a safe and sanitary bus environment;

Knows the proper use of securing devices for safety vest, wheelchairs, car seats and seatbelts;

Attends all program wide in-services and other training programs as assigned.
OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED

Required Experience:
QUALIFICATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Must meet the minimum physical requirements as stipulated by the State of Ohio, including successful completion of annual T-8 Physical Examination.
Must maintain a valid Ohio Commercial Driver’s License with School Bus Endorsement, and possess a driving abstract reflecting less than six (6) points.
Must pursue and maintain CPR/First Aid certifications, and Crisis Prevention Training.
Subject to random drug testing per the Department of Transportation requirements.
