Poshmark is the leading fashion marketplace where style comes alive through discovery, self-expression, and human connection. Powered by a vibrant community of 165 million members, Poshmark brings real people and taste to shopping through a social experience shaped by shared discovery. Buying and selling fashion feels simple, joyful, and personal, while every item tells its own story. Poshmark empowers sellers to grow meaningful businesses, keeps fashion in circulation longer, and gives shoppers access to unique and trusted finds, from everyday pieces to one-of-a-kind vintage and luxury.

🎯 About the Role We are looking for a Software Engineer II to join our Core Platform team and contribute to building reliable, high-performance backend systems that power our fast-growing marketplace. This is an exciting opportunity to work with experienced engineers and gain hands-on experience developing cloud-native services used by millions of users every day.

⚙️ What You’ll Do Design, develop, and maintain backend services that support Poshmark’s marketplace experience. Collaborate with peers and senior engineers to implement scalable, efficient, and maintainable systems. Write clean, well-documented, and well-tested code following best practices. Participate in code reviews and learn from feedback to continually improve. Troubleshoot and fix issues across distributed systems in production environments. Contribute to improving development processes, tooling, and team workflows. 6-Month Accomplishments: Become proficient with Poshmark’s tech stack, development tools, and codebase. Ship production-quality code with guidance from senior team members. Take ownership of small to medium-sized components or features. Collaborate effectively with Product, QA, and Design teams on feature delivery. 12+ Month Accomplishments: Independently deliver features from design to production. Contribute to performance improvements and scalability initiatives. Develop a strong understanding of Poshmark’s system architecture and make data-driven technical decisions. Participate in technical discussions and contribute ideas to improve platform reliability and efficiency. Mentor interns or new hires joining the team.

💪 What You’ll Bring 2 - 4 years of professional experience (including internships) in backend software engineering. Strong understanding of computer science fundamentals — data structures, algorithms, and software design principles. Proficiency in at least one backend language (e.g., Ruby, Java, Python, or Go). Familiarity with RESTful APIs, databases (SQL/NoSQL), and caching or message-queue systems. Interest in cloud technologies (AWS, GCP, or similar) and scalable architectures. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Collaborative, curious, and motivated to learn and grow within a fast-paced environment.
