Hidden Level is transforming airspace safety with innovative, scalable drone detection and airspace technology. We provide real-time, actionable data to enhance security across various environments. As we expand, we're looking for a Senior Digital Hardware Engineer who will apply their skills and experience to lead the design of custom hardware and firmware for cutting-edge sensor and communication systems.
Location: This position is located in the Syracuse, NY office with the potential for hybrid arrangements.
Responsibilities:
- Derive and document Digital Hardware system requirements working collaboratively with multiple technical disciplines
- Define custom multi-layer PCB architectures and perform part selection, schematic design, and aid in layout activities
- Perform functional test and verification activities for new hardware and aid in production transition and support
- Architect and design HDL solutions for the latest Xilinx FPGAs and SoC devices such as Ultrascale+ and RFSoCs
- Design and implement efficient solutions for data acquisition, digital signal processing, command and control, external hardware interfaces, and high-speed communication protocols
- Use scripting languages such as Python and Bash to automate and improve workflows
- Perform integration and test of hardware and HDL designs at subsystem and system levels
- Provide information in support of project planning, execution, and oversight

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years related professional experience
- PCB design experience including the design of digital and analog circuits including FPGAs, microcontrollers, memories, and high-speed data converters
- Familiarity with VHDL and/or Verilog to configure FPGAs and other embedded systems
- Applied experience testing and validating analog and digital hardware using oscilloscopes, network analyzers, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers, etc.
- 10% travel.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Altium design environment
- Experience with modern Xilinx FPGAs and the Vivado design environment
- Experience with Communication and Sensor systems, Digital Signal Processing, Software Defined Radios, RF System Design
- Experience providing design oversight and detailed design review feedback
- Experience with Matlab, Python, Linux
Compensation and Benefits: Hidden Level offers a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, paid parental leave, flexible time off, 401(k) with employer contributions, life insurance, and disability insurance. The company also provides a remote or hybrid work environment and potential stock options.
Salary Range : The anticipated salary range for this position based out of Syracuse, NY is estimated at $109,000 to $136,000 annually. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Hidden Level considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer
