Overview

T he o pportunity

Walbridge is looking for Superintendents that know how to and love to build!  Schedule, coordinate and supervise Mechanical craft employee activities. May involve supervising one or more trade groups, including electricians, plumbers, sheet metal workers, and similar within the construction industry.

Location

You can be located anywhere in the US, if you are highly willing to travel to our client projects on a long-term basis.

Responsibilities

  • Resource Management : Plan and supervise Equipment Start Up and Commissioning process , Assistant Superintendent (on larger projects ) and/or craft activities such as, determining method of construction, workforce levels, material quantities equipment, temporary power sources, work schedule and documenting actual hours worked . Maintain liaison with other departments such as Material Control, Purchasing , Quality Control, and Engineering to ensure all required materials, equipment, inspections, support craft activities and project schedules .

  • Project Planning and Strategy : Coordinate assigned work with the work of different crafts, company departments, or other contractors.

  • Risk Management : Assist the Labor Relations Department in maintaining communications with unions, resolving jurisdictional disputes, requisitioning required workforce, and as necessary the labor approach for the projects assigned . Monitor craft compliance with project safety program requirements; document and ensure corrective measures are implemented.

  • Team Leadership : Maintain liaison with engineering, estimating, and planning to ensure work complies with drawings, specifications, and schedule . Experience assisting in resolving construction problems such as lack of productivity and work interfaces is required .

Overall, you will play a critical role in ensuring the successful execution of projects that drive significant growth and innovation within the organization and serve our client’s needs.

Qualifications

T o q ualify f or t he r ole, y ou m ust h ave

  • Minimum of 8 years supervisory experience in similar facility construction technology, methods, equipment, tools, and work procedures required .

  • Strong Mechanical background in Data Centers’ experience is preferred.

  • Titles by discipline may include, Technical Superintendent, Mechanical Superintendent, or Electrical Superintendent .

  • Advanced understanding of construction scheduling, cost control and demonstrated ability to control and supervise large groups.

  • Prior experience with Commercial or Industrial project scopes of at least $ 50 M value .

  • A valid driver’s license in the US required; and willingness and ability to travel; travel is estimated at 70+%.

  • Strong history of leading, motivating and mentoring cross-functional teams .

  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, laws, standards, and regulations.

  • Proficiency in developing and implement ing project strategies, plans, and budgets.
