Osage, IA, USA | EMS | Hourly | 25.77 per hour , increases with experience. | PRN, as needed

MCRHC is a 25-bed critical access hospital, including a Level 4 Trauma Center Emergency Room seeing 3,200 visits annually. The Surgical Services department performs over 1,300 procedures annually, including specialties General Surgery, Orthopedics, ENT, Urology, Ophthalmology, Pain management, and Podiatry.

JOB SUMMARY

The position functions so as to support the policies and procedures of the Emergency Services Department and the Mitchell County Regional Health Center. This position maintains the highest possible standards in order to provide the highest level of care and treatment to persons utilizing the ambulance service. This position may require staffing of ERV (Emergency Response Vehicle) and responding to calls immediately and managing patients independently. The Paramedic is an allied health professional whose primary focus is to provide advanced emergency medical care for critical and emergent patients who access the emergency medical system. This individual possesses the complex knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care and transportation. This position also helps with patient care in the Critical Access Emergency Department.

Pay: $25.77

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education

  • State of Iowa Paramedic, Paramedic, or Paramedic Specialist Required

  • BLS, PALS, and ACLS Required

  • National Registry Certification Paramedic preferred

  • Emergency Vehicle Driving Safety course preferred

  • Experience

  • 2 years previous healthcare or Ambulance experience preferred.

  • Special Skills & Aptitudes

  • Able to deal tactfully with the public and staff and work harmoniously with other personnel.

  • Able to function independently in high stress situations and provide competent care based off of Standing Protocols.

  • Able to take charge and lead other crew members in patient care and all aspects related to EMS

  • Able to obtain and maintain a valid driver license.

  • If over 21 years of age; current state Driver's License in good standing and insurable

  • If over 21 years of age; satisfactory driving record in accordance with the MCEMS Driving Policy.
