WMCHealth Network is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Hematologist/Oncologist to be based primarily at the Health Alliance Hospital located in Kingston, NY. This position will play a key role in the ongoing development and enhancement of a regional Hematology/Oncology Program as part of the WMCHealth Network. The incumbent will join a collegial team of exceptional providers in an established Hematology and Oncology practice as part of our CoC-accredited cancer program. The incumbent will provide care for patients with a broad range of both solid and liquid tumors at both our Kingston and Mid-Hudson facilities. The position reports to the Section Chief of Hematology & Medical Oncology.

Job Summary:

This position is responsible for providing comprehensive hematology and oncology services within the WMCHealth Cancer Center based out of the Kingston locations. Responsibilities include the evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and longitudinal management of patients with malignant and benign hematologic disorders. The physician works collaboratively with the multidisciplinary teams to provide high-quality, evidence-based, patient-centered care and participates in quality improvement, clinical research, educational, and program development initiatives. In addition to clinical responsibilities, the physician serves as Kingston Site Medical Director and is accountable for local clinical leadership provider engagement, quality and safety performance, access initiatives, program growth, operational excellence, and implementation of Cancer Service Line strategic prioriites. The Site Director represents the Kingston hematology-oncology program within WMCHealth and works collaboratively with hospital, physician, nursing, and operational leaders to ensure high-quality, coordinated cancer care across the region.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and longitudinal management of patients with malignant and benign hematologic and oncologic disorders

  • Deliver evidence-based oncology care consistent with national guidelines, institutional standards, and best practices

  • Prescribe and oversee systemic therapies, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapies, and supportive care treatments

  • Participate in multidisciplinary tumor boards and collaborate closely with surgery, radiation oncology, pathology, radiology, pharmacy, nursing, palliative care and supportive services

  • Ensure timely, accurate, and compliant medical documentation

  • Participate in inpatient and outpatient oncology services as assigned

  • Promote patient safety, high-quality care, and exceptional patient experience

  • Site Medical Director

  • Serve as the physician leader for the Kingston heme-onc program

  • Partner with Cancer Center, hospital, and administrative leadership to advance strategic, operational, and clinicla priorities

  • Provide oversight of local physician and APP engagement, workflow optimization, and care coordination

  • Support recruitment, onboarding, retention, mentoring, and professional development of oncology providers

  • Monitor and support performance related to access, quality, patient experience, safety, and productivity metrics

  • Identify barriers to efficient care delivery and lead improvement initiatives

  • Represent the Kingston site at Cancer Services line leadership meetings and other organizational committees

  • Foster relationships with referring physicians, community providers, hospital leadership, and regional stakeholders

  • Support growth of oncology services, new program development, and implementation of Cancer Center strategic initiatives

  • Promote compliance with regulatory, accreditation, medical staff, and institutional requirements

Qualifications/Requirements:

Experience:

Required Minimum 5 years of clinicla experience in Medical Oncology and Hematology following fellowship training with a demonstrated track record of high-quality clinical care and multidisciplinary collaboration. Preferred Prior physician leadership experience as a site director, medical director, or similar leadership role; Experience managing clinical operations, quality initiatives, provider engagement, or program development; Experience participating in clinical research and/or academic activities;

Education:

A New York licensed physician has completed a program of medical education and received the doctor of medicine (M.D.)

Licenses / Certifications:

Current valid license issued by NYS Education department to practice medicine. Board certified in Medical Oncology, and board certified or board eligible in Hematology. Physical Requirements:
