CHMC – Mental Health Worker – Per Diem - Various Shifts 7:30a-8p/7:30p-8a –12 Hour Shifts - Requisition 9641

Pay Range $19.68-$26.86*+

Job Summary:

As a Mental Health Worker, you'll play a crucial role in our inpatient setting by providing basic physiological and psychosocial care, along with essential safety measures and environmental care, to mentally ill patients. You'll work under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse and may be required to provide one-on-one patient supervision as needed. Flexibility is key, as you may also be asked to float to other departments.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent

  • BLS Certification and Crisis Intervention training within the hospital orientation period.

  • Knowledge and understanding of working with mentally ill patients.

  • Basic computer knowledge.

  • Proficient communication skills and the ability to interact efficiently and effectively with diverse personalities.

  • Ability to maintain attention to detail and accuracy when monitoring and documenting information.

  • Commitment to maintaining a safe and clean environment for patients.

  • Ability to acknowledge changes in a patient's condition or behavior and promptly report these changes to appropriate licensed nursing personnel.

  • Ability to perform various intervention tasks assigned by the charge nurse.

  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality of all patient information.

  • Commitment to maintaining quality assurance and compliance with all regulatory agencies.

  • Ability to implement and support procedures and programs pertaining to patient safety and security.

  • Ability to perform physical requirements including bending, standing, walking, and lifting.

*The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants. It may be modified in the future. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.   • This rate does not include the per diem differential of $2, the evening shift differential ($5 for hours worked between 3p-11p,must work 4 hours to qualify), or the night shift differential of $6 (hours worked between 11p-7a).
