We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Special Hazards Systems Inspector to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing thorough inspections of emergency lighting systems on a large college campus. You will also play a supporting role in fire alarm and sprinkler system inspections as needed. This position requires a strong commitment to safety and excellent customer service.

How you will do it:

  • Conduct comprehensive inspections of emergency lighting systems on a college campus, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards.

  • Assist senior inspectors with fire alarm and sprinkler system inspections as required.

  • Identify and document deficiencies on inspection reports, providing clear descriptions and recommendations for corrective action.

  • Develop and maintain inspection schedules, adhering to established timelines.

  • Communicate inspection progress and discovered deficiencies to the college campus representative frequently and clearly.

  • Work independently and manage daily tasks effectively, prioritizing safety and timely completion.

  • Maintain regular communication with supervisor and account representative regarding the status of -ongoing inspections, identified issues, and other site-related concerns.

  • Provide exceptional customer service by fostering professional and positive relationships with the college campus staff.

What we look for:

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in fire safety systems inspections, or related field, preferred.

  • Working knowledge of National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards relevant to emergency lighting systems is a plus.

  • Strong understanding of safety principles and safe work practices.

  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify potential hazards.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proficient in using computer software for data entry and report generation.

  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

  • Strong customer service skills and ability to build positive relationships.

  • Valid driver's license and safe driving record.
