Care Manager - Burlington County (CV2681-219) - Safe Return Division
Care Manager – Burlington County Shelter
Maintain safety. Support stability. Help clients move forward.
Volunteers of America Delaware Valley is seeking a dependable, client-focused Care Manager to support daily shelter operations at our Burlington County Shelter. Reporting to the Program Manager, you will be part of the facility’s treatment team and play a key role in ensuring a safe, structured, and supportive environment for clients—through accountability, routines, documentation, and consistent oversight.
What You’ll Do:

Provide on-going security and oversight of the facility, including hourly rounds, head counts, and shift change handoffs

Maintain accountability of the client population, including curfews/furlough monitoring and sign-in/sign-out procedures

Verify and relay facility census to the funding source by required daily deadlines

Initiate emergency follow-up when clients are late or absent without authorization
-
Orient new clients to rules, intake expectations, and fire safety/emergency procedures

Coordinate meal distribution and support resolution of meal-related issues

Inventory client property upon entry and discharge/termination from the program

Monitor and document client medications in the Medication Log

Schedule/document medical appointments and notify clients of appointment details

Ensure completion of client chores; maintain availability of cleaning supplies

Conduct inspections and contraband searches of the facility and/or clients per policy

Manage visitors (sign-in/sign-out with visit purpose) and log/respond to phone calls appropriately

Complete fire drills, safety checks, and generate work orders for facility repairs as needed

Maintain accurate daily logs and document incidents/disciplinary issues within required timeframes

Transport/escort clients as directed; file paperwork; complete required trainings; other duties as assigned
What You Need:

High school diploma/equivalent with minimum 2 years work experience in a relevant field

Direct experience working with homeless populations and individuals with substance use and mental health issues

Strong written/verbal communication and ability to interact appropriately with clients
-
Valid driver’s license and ability to meet agency driving standards

Ability to pass a criminal background check
-
Ability to handle Protected Health Information and comply with HIPAA Privacy and Security Rules

Bilingual abilities are a plus
