Full job description
This position is located at Fort Lee, VA - MWR Outdoor Recreation. Incentives and Bonuses Incentives will not be paid. Please note: This is an open continuous announcement to provide a ready pool of available applicants as needed. Applicants will be referred as vacancies occur. Resumes must be two pages (or less). Resumes should clearly demonstrate the applicant's relevant experience, skills, knowledge and abilities as they pertain to this position. A qualified candidate must possess the following: Must have knowledge of and experience in a wide variety of Outdoor Recreation pursuits. In addition to the above qualifications, candidates who possess the following qualifications will be considered "Highly Preferred" or "Best Qualified": Applicants pursuing a degree in Recreation Management, Outdoor Recreation, or a related field, and in the process of completing an internship or fieldwork program. Applicants with previous experience working a minimum 6 months programming outdoor recreation activities. Instructs groups and individuals in a variety of outdoor recreation programs, such as but not limited to rafting, rock climbing, kayaking, hiking, mountain biking, challenge course. Teaches children as well as adults. Incumbent is responsible for group management. The safety of the participants must always be the number one priority. Must be familiar with all programs offered by Outdoor Recreation, as well as be familiar with local area as the position requires providing information to customers. Reports any problems to the Outdoor Recreation Manager or Recreation Specialist as soon as possible in order to maintain a high quality service to guests. Performs other duties as assigned.
