Respiratory Therapist Full-Time | Day Shift | No Weekends | No Call

George C. Grape Community Hospital is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Respiratory Therapist to join our Respiratory Therapy team. This position offers the opportunity to provide high-quality respiratory care in a collaborative healthcare environment while enjoying a consistent day-shift schedule with no weekends and no call requirements.

Position Summary:

The Respiratory Therapist is responsible for providing comprehensive respiratory care services, including oxygen administration, ventilator management, arterial blood gas collection and analysis, pulmonary diagnostics, and patient education. The therapist collaborates closely with physicians, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized respiratory care plans and ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an AMA-approved two- or four-year Respiratory Therapy program.

-Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential preferred, or eligibility to become registered through the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).

-Current state licensure/certification as required.

  • Strong communication, critical thinking, and patient care skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer and monitor aerosolized medication treatments.

  • Perform and monitor EZPAP therapy.

  • Provide bronchopulmonary hygiene treatments.

  • Initiate and monitor CPAP and BiPAP therapy.

  • Perform oxygen assessments and titrations.

  • Obtain and assist with arterial blood gas (ABG) collection and analysis.

  • Conduct pulmonary function testing.

  • Perform electrocardiograms (EKGs).

  • Set up and analyze Holter monitoring studies.

  • Assist with cardiac stress testing.

  • Conduct and monitor sleep studies.

  • Participate in pulmonary rehabilitation programs.

  • Provide smoking cessation education and support to patients.

  • Collaborate with physicians and nursing staff to implement respiratory care plans and physician orders.

  • Monitor and evaluate respiratory care services to ensure quality patient outcomes.
