Salary Range: $35.87 To $35.87 Hourly

Summary of Position Functions: Assists in administering the center’s Health and Wellness Services Plan

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee scheduling of sick call, infirmary coverage, environmental health, as well as physical and dental exams in accordance with DOL guidelines.

  • Inspect the food service facility and dormitories regularly.

  • Develop and maintain an inventory control system for medication, equipment, and medical supplies.

  • Conduct inventories of supplies and medications monthly.

  • Purchase medication and medical supplies.

  • Participate in nurses’ on-call rotation.

  • Function as a staff nurse as needed.

  • Collect data and maintain wellness monthly Utilization Reports.

  • Plan, organize, and control the use of overtime and on-call staff to ensure compliance with Center and ETR policy and procedures.

Note: This job description is not all inclusive. Employees will perform other duties as assigned to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Proven ability to lead and support a team

  • Thorough knowledge of nursing techniques and practices

  • Knowledge of current state and federal laws regulating health care and patient privacy (HIPPA)

  • Strong organizational skills and communication skills both verbal and written

  • Familiarity with medical needs of young adults

  • Meticulous documentation/recording skills and attention to detail with excellent time management skills

  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-changing environment

  • Proficient using a computer software which includes Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.)

Educational Requirements:

  • State Licensed Registered Nurse.

  • Three years’ experience as a practicing nurse; one of which was in a lead capacity.

  • Must possess a Valid NYS Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record.
