Full job description

The Morton Mandan Library Board of Trustee position provides community members with a powerful opportunity to advocate for our local library. As part of this board, a trustee will serve on a volunteer basis. During the appointment period, trustees are charged with guiding and directing funds and policies relative to the management and administration of the library. The Library Board will also assist in assuring the library operates in accordance with the mission, all established policies governing the organization, the recruitment, selection, and evaluation of the Library Director.

The monthly meetings occur on the 4th Monday at 5:30 which are normally held in the Morton Mandan Public Library. Options to remotely attend the meeting are available.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Any qualified elector residing in Morton County, except within the City of Mandan is eligible for appointment. The appointment is for a 3-year unexpired term expiring June 30, 2027. Board members may serve for more than one term.

  • A commitment to and understanding the communities needs within Morton County and the City of Mandan;

  • Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and a passion for improving the lives of Morton County and the City of Mandan citizens;
