Overview

The Building Operations Student Worker must possess a valid driver's license and maintain an acceptable driving record. This position supports the daily operations of the College of Forestry, Wildlife and Environment by assisting with building operations, event setup and breakdown, fleet vehicle support, and various on-campus and off-campus deliveries and purchases. Responsibilities require dependability, professionalism, attention to detail, safe driving practices, and the ability to work independently. The position also requires the ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform physical tasks, including lifting and moving furniture, supplies, and equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and break down tables, chairs, and equipment for meetings, conferences, and special events.

  • Assist with moving furniture and equipment throughout the building.

  • Help maintain the appearance and organization of conference rooms, offices, and storage areas.

  • Assist with minor cleaning and organizational projects as assigned.

  • Fleet Vehicle Support

  • Wash and clean Auburn University state vehicles.

  • Inspect vehicles for cleanliness and report maintenance concerns.

  • Assist with fueling vehicles and maintaining vehicle readiness.

  • Drive vehicles to and from Facilities Automotive Services for:

  • Routine maintenance and repairs

  • Vehicle washing and detailing

Qualifications

  • Enrolled student at Auburn University

  • Valid driver's license

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to lift, move, and carry tables, chairs, equipment, and supplies for event setups and building operations.

  • Ability to follow directions and work independently.

  • Dependable, punctual, and professional.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to safely operate university vehicles and equipment.

  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions to clean and wash state vehicles.
