JOB SUMMARY

Assist Electrical Journeyman to Install, Maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures. Ensure that work is in accordance with relevant codes. Work under the direction of a Lead Craftsman or Foreman.

JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Actively support the Company’s commitment to safety and its “Core Values.”

  • Always represent the Company with high moral standards while adhering to the Company’s “Code of Business Conduct and Ethics.”

  • Assist Electrical Journeyman Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools.

  • Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.

  • Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.

  • Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.

  • Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system.

  • Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes.

  • Maintain current electrician's license to meet governmental regulations.

  • Work well with supervision.

  • Identify safety hazards you or other employees may be subject to and take all necessary corrective action to eliminate or minimize hazards.

  • Perform all other job-related duties as requested by Journeyman and supervision

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Apprentices will participate in the apprenticeship program for up to four (4) years.

  • Minimum of two (2) years of electrical, industrial or refinery maintenance experience.

  • Knowledge of industry hand and power tools.

  • Complete the Matrix Service Safety training and Client/Site specific training.

  • Must obtain and maintain active status within the drug testing program.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Employees will be required to adhere to large amounts of standing, walking, bending, squatting and lifting.

  • Will talk and hear to communicate

  • Must have good dexterity with hands and fingers to perform the precision adjustments of machinery parts and controls.

  • Will use arms and hands to signal, grab, hold, turn, push, pull objects, materials, controls and tools.

  • May be required to lift, carry and move up to 50lbs.

  • Will occasionally work at heights, climb ladders and stairways and work from platforms. Will work at heights up to 300' utilizing proper fall protection.

  • Will use vision abilities to focus, see short and long distances, colors, depth perception and peripheral vision.

  • Must be capable of working outside in the elements including but not limited to the heat, cold, rain, snow and wind; and must be able to work for long periods of time up to 12 hours a day.

  • Will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs/muffs, masks/respirators, safety vests, gloves and steel-toe boots.

The pay rate will depend on the successful candidate’s qualifications and prior experience, specific skill set, geographic location, internal equity, and other factors influencing pay. As such, the actual salary may fall closer to one or the other end of this range, and in certain circumstances, may fall outside the listed hiring range.

Hiring range: $27.00 to $45.00

Full range for this position, available overtime: $27.00 to $45.00 hour
