Why This Role
We're ramping up for some of the most exciting projects in our pipeline. These programs are pushing our team beyond current capacity, and we need two experienced Mechanical Design Engineers with strong PTC Creo skills to step in and own real design work from day one.
This is a high-ownership role for someone who's already built a solid track record in mechanical design and wants to apply it to devices that matter — including robotic surgery technology. You'll work with real autonomy, partner directly with customers, and mentor less experienced engineers on the team, all while contributing to some of the most technically interesting programs in our portfolio.
What You'll Do
Design & CAD

Own mechanical CAD design work from concept through release

Lead Design Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (DFMEA) sessions

Maintain and oversee engineering documentation and records
Data & Documentation

Manage design data in the ERP system to ensure accuracy

Interpret and apply specifications and regulatory information independently, and guide less experienced engineers in doing the same
Collaboration & Communication

Serve as a key point of contact with internal and external teams on design projects

Represent MPE in customer and supplier meetings, speaking directly to design decisions and tradeoffs
Prototyping & Transfer to Manufacturing

Lead in-house prototype assembly and testing

Drive new product transfer to manufacturing, including initial builds and documentation
General

Manage work across established and variable timelines

Follow all safety and work rules and regulations

Maintain departmental housekeeping standards
What You Bring
Required
-
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
-
5+ years of experience in mechanical design engineering

Strong proficiency in PTC Creo
-
Strong computer, math, and oral/written communication skills, with strong attention to detail

Ability to create and read complex engineering drawings

Solid understanding of tolerance stack-up analysis
Nice to Have

Experience with sheet metal design and advanced GD&T

Medical device design experience

Experience mentoring junior engineers
