Do you have a passion for making things run? Put your knowledge & skills to work for Arc Herkimer's Transportation Team as a Mechanic!

Starting rate $27/hr.

Monday through Friday, day shift, 40 hours per week.

18+ years old, diploma/GED required.

Your expertise in auto mechanics can truly make a difference for people with disabilities:

  • Repair agency vehicles, including buses, cars, vans, and SUVs

  • Ensure quality working conditions of all agency vehicles through preventative maintenance

  • Prepare vehicles for all NYS inspections

  • Perform internal inspections, keep accurate vehicle records, and update inventory

  • Fulfill NYS DMV and NYS DOT regulations for repairs and record-keeping

  • Collect & review daily driving logs and reports

  • Promptly complete any and all repairs noted on driver reports

  • Drive bus or vehicle as directed

Qualifications:

  • 3 years professional experience with medium duty bus, truck chassis, including air brake, diesels, and gas engines

  • Section 720 & 721 of NYS DOT regulations preferred

  • Possess NYS inspection certification or obtain within 6 months of hire

  • Must possess NYS CLD Class B license or obtain within 6 months

  • Must have basic tools to perform maintenance of medium duty vehicles
