Design Coordinator

Kirkwood, MO

Reports To:Assistant Design Manager

Job Purpose:To support the success of MBA Design Sales Consultants through various administrative, drafting, and design tasks.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Assist Design Sales Consultants with all aspects of the design process

  • Sketch, measure, and photograph existing field conditions

  • Create accurate Existing Condition Drawings, Design Concept Drawings, Permit Drawings, Work Scopes, and other construction documents using Chief Architect and Right Touch (CRM)

  • Meet with clients to make selections as needed for the project while staying within budget

  • Provide superior customer service to interior and exterior clients

  • Continually develop new skills, knowledge, and utilize technology to fulfill responsibilities

  • Maintain knowledge of products and keep up to date on current construction technology, building products, and trends in the industry.

  • Participate in tradeshows, seminars, & other events as requested

Minimum Requirements:

  • 2 years of residential drafting experience

  • 2 years working one-on-one with clients to determine material selections, budgets, and execute sales contracts

  • College degree in Interior Design or Architectural Drafting preferred

  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, and CAD Programs (Chief Architect program is a plus)

  • Excellent organization, communication, and attention to detail.

  • Strong time management skills and the ability to manage several projects at a time

  • Capability to perform duties in an efficient, professional, and courteous manner

  • Have & maintain clean, reliable transportation to use for client appointments around the St. Louis & Southern Illinois area

  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed

  • Ability to talk and hear; see and work on a computer and sit for extended periods of time, walk, kneel, bend, work with your hands, and move up to 30 lbs. independently
