Methodist Senior Services is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Full-Time or Part-Time Physical Therapist to join our therapy team in Tupelo, Mississippi. Position Overview

The Physical Therapist is responsible for evaluating residents and developing individualized treatment plans designed to improve mobility, functional independence, safety, and overall quality of life. Working closely with physicians, residents, families, and the interdisciplinary care team, the PT provides evidence-based therapy services tailored to each resident's unique needs.

This role also includes supervising and directing Physical Therapist Assistants as appropriate, ensuring high-quality care throughout the treatment process, and contributing to a collaborative, resident-centered approach to rehabilitation.

Requirements

Preferred Qualifications

Prefer minimum one (1) year experience in geriatric rehabilitation. Supervision, training and/or experience in a setting serving the same age/type served by this facility. Prefer membership in the American Physical Therapy Association

Minimum Qualifications

Master or Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy, Speech Therapy or Occupational Therapy. Current license/certification in the state of Mississippi. Demonstrated competency in identified areas of specialization. Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills. Adequate computer skills in order to complete required job duties and computerized documentation. Demonstrated competency in applying principles, methods, materials and equipment used in physical therapy. Knowledge of accreditation standards and compliance requirements.

Physical Requirements

Ability to walk, bend, drive, stand, sit and reach constantly during an eight (8) hour day/shift. Ability to speak and hear to understand and give directions. Visual and auditory acuity sufficient to assess and monitor patient/resident needs, maintain accurate records, understand directions and recognize people. Fine and gross motor skills. Ability to push wheeled equipment throughout the facility and in the community. Work endurance ability to work eight (8) hour days/shifts. Ability to participate in sustained activity for up to three and one-half (3.5) hours at a time. Reading and comprehension skills for analyzing reports, charts and correspondence. Possesses highly developed communication and problem-solving skills.

Additional Information

Working Conditions: Typical therapy clinic environment. Strong organizational skills in order to effectively maintain multiple projects simultaneously. Requires creativity as well as the ability to work independently. Ability to be discreet and maintain confidential information.
