Full job description

Cambio is a software platform that drives world-class real estate decarbonization. We help commercial real estate owners and tenants bring their real estate portfolios to net-zero using a machine learning-driven, end-to-end real estate sustainability platform. Our mission is to take the real estate industry into the climate action era.

As a Partner Strategy Analyst at Cambio, you will play a pivotal role in owning end-to-end data quality assurance for some of the world’s leading institutions who have chosen Cambio to manage their carbon accounting, benchmarking, reporting, and decarbonization efforts — including helping clients understand and act on building performance standards (BEPS) and other regulatory requirements. If you enjoy tackling quantitative problems, have a passion for climate-related work, and are excited about the idea of working at a fast-paced team at the forefront of climate, AI and real estate technology, this role is for you!

Key Responsibilities

  • Support onboarding for large institutional clients, assessing existing data sources and creating tailored onboarding plans.

  • Work with asset and property management teams to automate data collection and ensure smooth data ingestion.

  • Oversee end-to-end data quality assurance, transforming raw data into standardized, accurate inputs for Cambio’s platform and resolving issues with product and engineering teams.

  • Own all quantitative analytics delivered to customers, ensuring complete accuracy and high-quality outputs.

  • Build and maintain building-level energy, water, and carbon benchmarks (e.g., ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager) that give clients a clear, defensible view of asset performance relative to peers and regulatory thresholds.

  • Track jurisdiction-specific building benchmarking and Building Performance Standards (BEPS) requirements — such as NYC Local Law 97, DC BEPS, and BERDO — monitoring compliance deadlines and fine exposure, and translating pathway options into clear guidance for property and asset management teams.

  • Support enterprise sustainability reporting across frameworks like GRESB, TCFD, and CDP, ensuring benchmarking and compliance data flow accurately into every submission.

  • Manage building documentation collection and coordinate with building science teams to ensure successful analysis delivery.

  • Coordinate communication workflows and follow-ups for major customer accounts to ensure strong customer success.

Impact

With this role, you’ll have the opportunity to achieve the following accomplishments:

  • Executed the measurement of real estate energy, water, waste, and carbon data across large asset portfolios, driving the identification of energy savings through Cambio’s decarbonization platform.

  • Ensured the accuracy of carbon emissions data and developed new analytical methods to power the world’s leading AI-based retrofit analytics and real estate sustainability data platform.

  • Collaborated with real estate owner customers to identify and remedy data inaccuracies, saving customers 100+ hours of time across asset & portfolio management teams and reducing data gaps by up to 25%.

  • Built out jurisdiction-specific Building Performance Standards compliance pathways across client portfolios, giving an owners and property managers a single source of truth for benchmarking, fine exposure, and reporting deadlines across multiple regulatory jurisdictions.

Qualifications

  • Strong quantitative background: 2+ years of experience in a consulting, data analytics, accounting, or finance.

  • Data-obsessed: You are meticulous and thrive when surrounded by numbers. You are willing to roll up your sleeves to work with unstructured and inconsistent data using Excel. Experience with SQL or computer programming a bonus, but not required

  • Creative problem-solving: To you, an Excel model is an exciting puzzle to solve. You have the ability to think outside the box when addressing challenges

  • Strong communicator: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. You are able to make complex problems seem simple and communicate these with multiple parties in dynamic, fast-moving environments

  • Collaborative team player: You prioritize the team's success and foster collaboration

  • Experience working with carbon or building data: Experience handling energy, carbon, or real estate data is a bonus, but not required

  • Understanding of building benchmarking & performance standards: Familiarity with energy/water benchmarking programs (e.g., ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager) and Building Performance Standards (BEPS) regulations such as NYC Local Law 97, DC BEPS, or BERDO — or a strong eagerness to build that expertise — is a significant plus

Logistics:
