Overview

St. Catherine of Siena Hospital is a proud member of Catholic Health and has served the residents of the Smithtown area for more than 50 years. St. Catherine's is located on the north shore of Long Island in Smithtown. The campus is comprised of a 296-bed not-for-profit community hospital; a 240-bed nursing and rehabilitation care center; and a 60,000 square foot medical office building. Job Details

Responsibilities: • Assists patients through the registration process and places orders in the laboratory information system. • Expedites the flow of specimens from receipt in lab to delivery to performing departments. • Responsible for answering the telephones and processing requests for patient reports and results.

Requirements: • High school graduate or GED equivalency. • Computer/office skills/secretarial courses desirable. • Minimum 2-3 years previous clerical experience preferred.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: • General computer skills required. • Position also requires ability to operate general office equipment and communication devices such as telephones, fax machines and photocopy machines. • Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively with laboratory staff, patients, families, physicians, outside agencies and other hospital personnel

Salary Range

USD $21.96 - USD $21.96 /Hr.
