At Senra Systems, our ability to scale depends on one thing above all: developing exceptional technicians. As a Technical Trainer , you’ll play a pivotal, hands-on role in shaping the next generation of wire harness technicians for the aerospace and defense industry.
This role is ideal for someone who loves teaching through doing — an effective communicator who can make complex processes clear, hold high standards, and inspire confidence on the production floor. You’ll balance encouragement with accountability, ensuring every new apprentice leaves training confident, capable, and ready to build customer hardware.
What you'll own:
Training Deliverables

Lead classroom training sessions focused on core manufacturing fundamentals for our apprentice technicians and specialized operations for our harness+ technicians.

Support trainees during the on-the-job (OTJ) phase , reinforcing learning through hands-on coaching, showing skills through demonstration, and providing real-time feedback.

Deliver training that is structured, clear, engaging, and aligned with Senra’s quality and operations standards.

Serve as the visible, on-floor coach for new apprentices — modeling best practices, professionalism, and reinforcing expectations. Coaching & Feedback

Provide direct, constructive feedback to trainees on performance, quality, and adherence to process.

Balance being supportive and encouraging with being assertive and clear when requirements aren’t met.

Identify individuals who may need additional support and partner with the Training Supervisor to adjust learning plans accordingly.

Foster an environment where trainees feel safe to ask questions, make mistakes, and improve. Continuous Improvement

Collect feedback from trainees and production teams to refine training content, pacing, and clarity.

Recommend updates to curriculum, SOPs, and materials based on observed trends and challenges.

Collaborate with the Training Supervisor, Engineering, and Quality to ensure all training reflects the latest standards, drawings, and customer requirements.

Track and report trainee progress, certification readiness, and skill proficiency. What you'll bring to the team:

Basic Qualifications
-
8+ years of hands-on experience in wire harness assembly.
-
3+ years of direct experience as a Technical Trainer in a production environment.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills — able to teach, motivate, and hold others accountable.

Demonstrated ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and work instructions.

Comfortable working across departments — Engineering, Quality, and Production — to reinforce standards and feedback loops.

Preferred Qualifications
-
Experience in aerospace and defense manufacturing environments.

IPC/WHMA-A-620 training certification or equivalent.

Proficiency in ERP/MES systems and digital training documentation.

Proven ability to identify process gaps and propose practical improvements. What Success Looks Like

Every new apprentice exits training certified, confident, and productive on Day 1 of release to the floor. Strengths and weaknesses clearly identified and handed off to Production leadership prior to release.

Training sessions are structured, interactive, and grounded in real shop-floor examples.

Clear, timely feedback drives both trainee performance and curriculum evolution.

The technical training team is seen as a core enabler of throughput, quality, and technician growth across Senra. Compensation:

Compensation will be based on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors.

Hourly Range: $30.00-$45.00
