Important skills include MS Office, Electronic Documentation, Mobile Device App Access, Electronic System Documentation, Electronic Documentation System, and Mobile Device Apps. Preferred (not required): Customer Service, Collaboration, Independent Work, and High-Touch Customer Service.

Employment Specialist-Youth & Student Support

As an Employment Specialist you will help individuals find meaningful employment.

A typical day might include the following:

  • Using your vehicle to transport individuals to and from job interviews (mileage reimbursement provided)

  • Guiding students to develop career goals and objectives

  • Helping students create a customized resume and complete applications for either jobs or school admissions

  • Coaching and preparing for interviews

  • Assisting students at their job sites to ensure success and independence

This position may interest you if:

  • You want to positively impact a student’s life

  • You have previous experience in high-touch customer service environments

  • You are passionate about working with students (ages 14+)

  • You thrive being part of a collaborative team, yet can work independently

Career growth opportunities – potential selection into our Management Training Program for people who have the following experience:

  • Management of a small team

  • Informal leadership in sports, clubs, or civic organizations

Additional requirements include:

  • Valid driver’s license and comfortable traveling within your local community

  • Monday – Friday, daytime business hours (flexibility offered for part-time)

  • Comfortable using MS Office, documenting notes in an electronic system, and accessing apps on a mobile device
