SUMMARY

Operates computer systems, range control systems, and targetry. Performs various aspects of range maintenance and repair.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Loads and unloads trucks, moves supplies and materials to proper location by wheelbarrow or hand truck, etc.

  • Stacks materials for storage or binning, collects refuse and salvageable materials.

  • Digs, fills, and tamps earth excavations, levels the ground using pick, shovel, tamper, and rake.

  • Performs maintenance and repair of Shock Absorbing Concrete (SACON) buildings.

  • Moves and arranges heavy pieces of office and household furniture, equipment, and appliances.

  • Works independently or under close supervision and follows specific procedures or detailed instructions.

  • Operates ranges/systems to which assigned and will be cross trained in other functional areas as needed.

  • Familiarized with operations of all computer systems, range control systems, targetry, and pyrotechnic devices in functional area.

  • Perform operations checks, range/systems setup, troubleshooting and maintenance.

  • Maintains regular and punctual attendance.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

None.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • Must be able to access 29 Palms and other military facilities. Must have a government issued Real ID to obtain base access. The Real ID Act of 2005 is an Act of Congress that modifies U.S. federal law pertaining to security, authentication, and issuance procedure standards for drivers' licenses and identity documents, as well as various immigration issues pertaining to terrorism. The federal Real ID Act places new rules on which forms of identification may be used to board flights within the United States (U.S.) and enter secure federal facilities, such as military bases, federal courthouses, and other federal facilities.

  • Proficiency in operating an alphanumeric keyboard required.

  • Must obtain and maintain any necessary security access and/or background checks.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • Understanding of transcribing procedures and relevant data entry equipment.

  • Intermediate computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft software (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint).

  • Flexibility in scheduling work hours and available for occasional travel.

  • Ability to multi-task.

WORK SCHEDULE

Full-time. May be required to work additional hours as needed to complete assignment or project.

TRAVEL

The expected travel time is less than 25%.

DRIVING REQUIREMENTS

Must have or be able to attain a valid state driver’s license and be insurable on the company’s automobile insurance policy. Driving, with or without accommodation, may be required when traveling for training and/or short occasional amounts of local driving. The expected driving time is less than 25%.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work is primarily performed outdoors but may also be performed in a maintenance facility as well as in outdoor military training areas. Work is often performed in adverse conditions including inclement weather such as high humidity, heat, cold, high wind, rain, and various local conditions. Our mission is to train US Marines; therefore, we work side by side with them in all climates and conditions. Employee may be exposed to sharp objects and may be exposed to some heat, loud noise, chemicals, lead, and vibration. Katmai strictly adheres to the Occupational Safety and Health Standards (OSHA) regulations. Use of personal protective equipment is mandatory if applicable. Employee will be exposed to a wide variety of people in differing functions, personalities, and abilities.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Position consists of standing for long periods of time, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, and lifting boxes weighing up to 50 pounds. Frequently uses hands/fingers for handling, to work with such hand tools as lawn equipment, outdoor tools, shovels, wrenches, screwdrivers, wire cutters, pliers, and soldering irons. Seeing up close. Compensation & Benefits:

  • Pay: $27.04 /hour.

  • H&W: $6.75/hr. paid toward employee-only medical insurance. Any remainder paid in cash in bi-weekly paycheck.
