Farmingdale State College is looking to hire part-time FAA Aircraft Maintenance Technicians. The chosen candidates will be responsible for the following:

Assemble and install electrical, plumbing, mechanical, hydraulic, and structural components and accessories, using hand tools and power tools.
-
Check for corrosion, distortion, and invisible cracks in the fuselage, wings, and tail, using inspection equipment.
-
Clean, refuel, and change oil in line service aircraft.
-
Conduct routine and special inspections as required by regulations.
-
Disassemble engines, and inspect parts such as cylinders for corrosion, wear, warping, cracks, and leaks.
-
Examine and inspect aircraft components, including landing gear, hydraulic systems, and de-icers to locate cracks, breaks, leaks, or other problems.

Prepare and paint aircraft surfaces.

Participate in the safety program at the Aviation Center.

Job Requirements:
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Must have FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certificates.

Flexible availability, including weekends.
ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
-
Previous experience working in a 141 Flight School as an AMT.

Bachelor's degree or greater.
Additional Information:
This is a part-time position.
SALARY: $25/hour, may increase commensurate with experience
