Successful candidates bring 4+ Years Of UX Product Design Experience and Experience Working On A Consumer Mobile-First Product. Important skills include Shaping The Frontier Of How Shoppers Interact With AI, 0 To 1 Journey, Strategic Thinking, Conviction In Design Choices, Early Adopter Of AI Products, and Crafting Personalized UX. Preferred (not required): Worked On AI Features, Designing A Consumer AI Product, 3D, and Animation.

Product Designer (Full-Time)

The Role:

We are in search of our first product designer who will own all design responsibilities at Alta.

This is a fit if you:

Thrive in ambiguous problems, shaping the frontier of how shoppers interact with AI, and the 0 to 1 journey. You think strategically & have conviction in your design choices.
Are an early adopter of AI products & are excited about crafting an UX that is personalized, empathetic and adaptive.

Craft beautiful, polished, and delightful user interfaces that build trust and showcase the power of our AI technology.
Conduct user research & experiments to understand user behaviors and motivations.
Find creative ways to ship high-quality work in a fast-paced, often ambiguous, resource-constrained startup environment. Manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Provide design assistance to marketing & social media roadmaps.
Stay updated with Alta community & apply feedback to designs. Requirements:
4+ years of UX product design experience working on a consumer mobile-first product, ideally at an early stage startup.
Can both hack together prototypes quickly, as well as make pixel-perfect hifi designs.
Experience creating a design system. Expert proficiency in Figma.
Comprehensive understanding of user research.
Have touched brand design and spend time thinking about colors, textures, iconography, and how beautiful landing pages can tell a story & how high-end brands build their status.
Excited about productivity tools, shopping.
Familiar with AI tools and products, ideally worked on AI features. Nice to have:
Experience designing a consumer AI product & have thought deeply about related questions, such as how to design a product that makes users feel successful & listened to by the AI.
Experience with 3D or animation.
Experience with video content (Tiktok, Youtube, etc.)
Front-end coding skills, or use AI coding tools like Cursor or Claude Location:
Ideally in-person (NYC), open to remote
