Full job description
Provides direct and indirect care in the acute care setting. Provides care that reflects Initiative, flexibility, and responsibility. Determines priorities of care based on physical and psychosocial needs. Communicates with physicians/nurse manager/co-workers, as appropriate, about changes in patient's status, symptomatology, and results of diagnostic studies. Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment. Is able to perform general nursing duties in all departments with appropriate supervision. Float pool RNs will float to our Medical Pediatric Services Unit, Inpatient Surgical Unit, and Progressive Coronary Unit.
Graduate of approved school of nursing; Bachelor of Science in nursing preferred, Associate Degree or Diploma in nursing required. Current licensure as Registered Nurse in North Carolina. Current BCLS required; specialty certification preferred. Ability to read and communicate effectively in English required. Additional languages preferred. Significant Med/Surg and Stepdown/Tele experience, or ICU experience as an RN is strongly preferred. Basic computer knowledge preferred.
