Position Summary:

Cibo Vita is seeking a skilled HVAC & Chiller Technician to support the operation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC, refrigeration, chiller, boiler, and utility systems throughout the manufacturing facility. The technician will ensure optimal equipment performance, minimize downtime, and maintain a safe, efficient environment that supports food production operations. This role aligns with the company's facility maintenance and utilities operations requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC systems, air handlers, rooftop units, and ventilation equipment.

Maintain and service water-cooled and air-cooled chiller systems, cooling towers, pumps, valves, and associated controls.

Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on HVAC and utility equipment.

Diagnose mechanical, electrical, refrigeration, and control-system issues.

Monitor facility temperatures, humidity levels, and utility performance to support food manufacturing requirements.

Maintain boilers, steam systems, compressed air systems, and related utilities as needed.

Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and emergency maintenance situations.

Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, P&IDs, and equipment manuals.

Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and compliance documentation.

Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, GMP, food safety, and company safety standards.

Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, commissioning, and capital improvement projects.

Coordinate with production, engineering, and maintenance teams to minimize downtime.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required; technical/trade school certification preferred.

3+ years of HVAC, refrigeration, or chiller maintenance experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.

Strong knowledge of chillers, refrigeration cycles, HVAC systems, boilers, pumps, and utility equipment.

Experience troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, and control systems.

Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.

EPA 608 Universal Certification preferred.

Knowledge of PLCs, VFDs, and Building Automation Systems (BAS) is a plus.

Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team.

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Ability to stand, climb ladders, work in mechanical rooms, and perform maintenance in industrial environments.

Comfortable working around heat, steam, noise, and moving equipment.

Availability for overtime, weekends, holidays, and emergency call-ins as required.

Preferred Certifications

EPA 608 Universal Certification

HVAC/R Certification

Boiler Operator License (preferred)

OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification

Manufacturer training on Carrier, Trane, York, Daikin, or similar equipment
