Full job description
The Department of Philosophy and World Religions seeks qualified adjunct faculty for various world religions classes, including some of the following: World Religions (an introductory survey), Intro to the Bible, Spirituality and Healing, Spirituality and Nature, and Religion in America.
Some of these courses are offered online, but candidates who can teach in person are preferred.

Qualifications: Candidates must have at least a Master’s degree in a relevant field. Previous university-level teaching experience is strongly preferred.
Applications submitted through this process will be screened on a rolling basis, as the need for new instructors arises. Applications will be retained for possible future semesters of employment.

Notes:
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US, and the university will not sponsor an applicant for a work visa for this promotion.
Salary:
In compliance with the State of New Jersey’s Pay Transparency Act, and in accordance with the current MOA, Rowan University adjuncts are provided with a minimum of $2,225 (after 9/1/2026) per credit for all courses taught, with a maximum teaching load of8 credits per semester and 12 credits in an academic year. Courses will be assigned to instructors by College of Department on an as-needed basis.
