Full job description

The Opportunity We’re looking for a Junior Product Analyst (FinTech & Platform) to take real ownership of product initiatives and help drive delivery across multiple product areas. This contract-to-hire role is ideal for someone early in their product journey who brings energy, curiosity, and strong follow-through, and is eager to build product skills quickly. You’ll collaborate closely with product leadership, engineering, design, and customer-facing teams to identify and validate customer needs, turn messy inputs into clear requirements, support engineering execution through strong documentation and iteration, and help deliver meaningful features and improvements in a distributed, global team environment, while being accountable for outcomes, not just attending meetings.

What You’ll Do Drive Requirements & Execution with Engineering (Accountability Focus)

  • Own the definition of requirements for product improvements — including user stories, acceptance criteria, and edge cases

  • Work directly with engineering to clarify requirements, answer questions, and unblock delivery

  • Create clear product documentation to support development (PRDs, briefs, workflows, user stories)

  • Ensure the team stays aligned on scope, tradeoffs, and what “done” looks like

  • Track execution progress, flag risks early, and drive tasks to completion Customer & Market Discovery ‍

  • Join customer calls and interviews to understand workflows and pain points

  • Research competitors and industry trends to identify opportunities and differentiation

  • Synthesize insights into clear product recommendations and opportunity briefs

  • Partner with Customer Success, Support, and Sales to translate feedback into action Support Product Delivery & Quality ‍

  • Assist with testing (QA), validation, and rollout readiness

  • Help identify risks early (compliance, workflow, usability, edge cases)

  • Coordinate cross-functional input so features land smoothly and correctly

  • Work with the team to ensure new features deliver real value and adoption Data + Feedback → Continuous Improvement ‍

  • Track customer feedback, usage patterns, and support ticket trends

  • Help define success metrics (adoption, drop-off points, customer outcomes)

  • Identify friction points and propose improvements backed by evidence Launch & Enablement ‍

  • Support feature rollouts with release notes, internal enablement, and customer messaging

  • Help ensure internal teams understand what’s changing and how to support customers

  • Gather post-launch feedback and recommend improvements ‍ What You’re Likely to Work On

‍ This role can touch multiple areas depending on priorities, including:

  • FinTech experiences (payments, gamification, compliance workflows, financial operations)

  • Workforce workflows (HR products, employee engagement and management)

  • Reporting, dashboards, and insights

  • AI-driven experiences and automation

  • Customer onboarding and product adoption improvements What We’re Looking For You’ll Do Well If You Are:

  • Highly organized with strong follow-through (you track progress and close loops)

  • Comfortable working with engineering teams and pushing for clarity

  • Able to write clear product requirements and documentation

  • Proactive and not afraid to ask questions or surface issues early

  • Excited to work across time zones with globally distributed teams

  • Customer-oriented and willing to do discovery directly with users, product training and validation

  • Analytical — you can turn messy inputs into structured insights Experience That Helps (not all required):

  • 0–2 years in product, operations, consulting, analytics, customer success, fintech, or SaaS

  • Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, Figma, Google Sheets

  • Strong communication and writing skills (clear docs, summaries, requirements)

  • Bonus: SQL, analytics tools, payments/compliance exposure, or startup experience Why Lumber?
