Full job description

THE OPPORTUNITY

Williams Parker, the region's oldest law firm, was founded in 1925 and is home to one of Florida's largest and most respected Trusts & Estates practices. The firm is seeking an accomplished estate planning and probate attorney with 5+ years of private practice experience to join its Estate Planning, Probate & Trust Administration team.

This opportunity is ideally suited for an attorney who finds purpose in helping individuals, couples, and families plan for what matters most and in guiding fiduciaries through estate and trust administration after a loss. The successful candidate will pair technical precision with a calm, reassuring presence.

THE WORK YOU WILL LEAD

As a member of Williams Parker's Trusts & Estates practice, you will:

  • Provide certainty at life's defining moments. Counsel individuals, couples, and families on estate plans that reflect their personal and financial goals, including incapacity planning and orderly succession.

  • Craft cohesive planning instruments. Prepare wills, revocable trusts, durable powers of attorney, and advance directives, and coordinate asset titling and beneficiary designations so each plan works as a whole.

  • Guide fiduciaries with steady counsel. Represent personal representatives and trustees in probate and trust administration, including asset collection, valuation, and distribution; fiduciary tax compliance; and the resolution of administrative questions or disputes.

  • Draw on the full strength of the Firm. Collaborate with colleagues in Tax, Business, Real Estate, and Litigation when a client's needs extend beyond the immediate engagement.

  • Become an enduring trusted advisor. Cultivate lasting relationships with clients, their families, and their professional advisors.

Requirements

THE EXPERIENCE YOU WILL BRING

The ideal candidate brings the experience, judgment, and client-centered perspective required to guide individuals, families, and fiduciaries through life's most personal decisions, including:

  • A strong private practice foundation. 5+ years of experience as a trusts and estates attorney focused on estate planning, probate, and trust administration, including drafting core planning documents and guiding administrations to completion.

  • Fluency in fiduciary matters. Working knowledge of fiduciary tax compliance, asset administration, beneficiary coordination, and Florida probate procedure.

  • Empathy, discretion, and clarity. The ability to counsel families through significant transitions with compassion and confidentiality, and to explain legal concepts in clear, reassuring terms.

  • Disciplined, collaborative matter management. The organization and professional maturity to manage a substantial caseload independently while working seamlessly with attorneys, paralegals, and clients' outside advisors.

  • Essential credentials. Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school and membership in The Florida Bar in good standing, or eligibility and willingness to sit for the Florida Bar Examination in the near future. Florida Bar Board Certification in Wills, Trusts & Estates is welcomed.

Benefits

A PLATFORM BUILT TO ENDURE

Williams Parker offers Trusts & Estates attorneys meaningful work, experienced colleagues, and a collaborative culture within one of the region's most respected estate planning and administration practices, serving a growing Southwest Florida market.

  • A century of excellence and stewardship. Join a Firm known for continuity, discretion, and careful judgment, whose attorneys have long served as trusted advisors and civic leaders.

  • Meaningful work and genuine ownership. Step into an established practice with a steady flow of substantive matters, and own each engagement from first conversation to completion.

  • Colleagues who elevate the work and one another. Work alongside experienced attorneys and dedicated paralegals in a culture that values mentorship and knowledge sharing.

  • Innovation that elevates the practice. Draw on modern technology, streamlined systems, and dedicated administrative, marketing, and knowledge-management support that let attorneys focus on clients.

  • A total rewards package commensurate with the opportunity. Receive market-leading compensation; comprehensive health, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance; an Employee Savings Plan and 401(k) with employer contributions; paid time off; paid parental leave; wellness programs; and access to discounts and special offers through WP Perks at Work.
