Description
Job purpose
Under direction of the Regional Manager an Area Manager has complete
responsibility for the sales and successful operations of assigned geographical
area or group of clients.
Duties and responsibilities
Define all business opportunities in a given sales area including documentation of
competitor contracts, performance and prices. Provide reports to Regional
Manager and office Manager to include all current company and contact
information (note that Contact Data Base must be restructured).
Maintain the company’s established contracts within the sales area and take all
steps to ensure continued business
Identify new target opportunities within the sales area and proceed with sales
efforts to expand business and secure contracts
Be proficient in project surveys and oversee other managers who perform
surveys within the sales area
Develop strong relationship with manufacturer representatives and suppliers.
Recommend prescriptions and treatment methods for projects and obtain
manufacturer guarantees when applicable.
Utilize “bid master” and other specialized bid tools and calculations to determine
projected job costs (note that Bid Master must be restructured)
Prepare draft bids and quotes in the sales area, coordinate with Regional
Manager & execute as directed.
Provide Home Office (Dave Riggs) copies of contracts to review contract language
and execute follow up instructions.
Provide complete project information, including billing and circuit information,
budget figures, target gallons and production estimates to Office Manager.
Insert information into FRS and monitor FRS (assist foremen) throughout project
to ensure accuracy.
Using FRS to monitor job production and application volume; reconcile with
targets and assess profitability on a weekly basis. Prepare written report for any
unusual losses or large discrepancies from target.
Assess resource needs (personnel, equipment, material) for contract execution and
coordinate with Regional Manager and FOM.
With Regional Manager coordinate project operations and schedules
Supervise project coordinators.
Develop personnel and teams including ongoing evaluation and training of
personnel working in area
Resolution of general customer complaints and problems
Oversee survey of completed work & coordinate any remedial work necessary
Continued follow up with Client to ensure Customer Satisfaction
Evaluate all aspects of operations, identify problem areas & make recommendations
for improvement
Attend State VMA meetings and participate on committees.
Qualifications
Proficient in Microsoft suite(excel, word, outlook) combined with general computer
literacy
HS Diploma
Prior experience in a field management role
Prior experience working with a crew based operation
Prior experience working with Herbicide and Herbicide application.
Highly motivated self-starter
Competent communicator: written and verbal.enter manually
