Lake Region Healthcare is seeking a full time Inpatient Clinical Dietitian to join our Nutrition Services team in a fun, fast-paced environment that provides nourishing food to our patients, fellow employees, and visitors. This is a great opportunity for new graduates, and experienced Dietitians, to work with a variety of patients, with no on-call, weekends, or holidays!
The Clinical Dietitian plays a vital role on our healthcare team by providing comprehensive nutritional care to patients with a variety of disease states and medical conditions. The Dietitian monitors, assesses, and optimizes patients’ nutritional status based on their current medical condition and overall nutritional needs. This role includes collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals to coordinate medical and nutritional care, as well as making recommendations for enteral (tube) and parenteral (intravenous) nutrition support and dietary supplementation.
The Dietitian’s time will be allocated between inpatient care and participants in the Intensive Cardiac Rehabilitation Program. In addition, the Dietitian partners with Food Services as a subject matter expert to manage menu software and verify the accuracy of nutritional labeling in the café.
The Dietitian works flexible hours based on patient needs, generally Monday through Friday, with limited to no weekend shifts and no holiday requirements. The Dietitian reports to the Nutrition Services Director. This position involves regular interaction with patients, nurses, physicians, department directors, hospital staff, patients’ families, and the public. Strong interpersonal communication and educational skills are essential. The Dietitian must maintain patient confidentiality and demonstrate the ability to work independently.

72 hours biweekly, day shifts Monday to Friday with no on-call, weekends or holidays!
Compensation
Hourly Wage Range: $30.48- $40.97/hour. Please note that final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications and internal equity considerations.

Qualifications

Education/Special Skills: Registration with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, as well as a Minnesota RD license are required, or requirement to obtain MN licensing within three months from hire date.

Requires a Bachelor of Science Degree in Food and Nutrition;

Certification in Diabetes Education or Weight Management is preferred (or willingness to acquire within 2 years).

Have Food Safety certification or be willing to obtain with in 1 year of hire.

Must possess excellent interpersonal communication skills, decision making abilities, computer application, and mathematical abilities.

Previous healthcare setting preferred.

Must have working knowledge of federal, state, a local regulation regarding food safety and sanitation. Proficiency with WordPerfect and Microsoft Office Suite software preferred.

Visual acuity is needed for inspection of data, figures, computer terminals, and preparing, and reading written materials.

Successful completion of the pre-employment health screening process required.
