Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Physical Therapist to join our Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation team part time. The ideal candidate will evaluate, develop, and implement individualized rehabilitation programs for patients with cardiovascular and pulmonary conditions. The therapist will collaborate with physicians, nurses, exercise physiologists, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals to improve functional capacity, endurance, mobility, and quality of life.

The hours would be Monday , Wednesday, and Thursdays with flexible daytime hours (depends on volume) but appropriately 6 hours per day.

We are looking for a clinician with a special interest in Cardiac and Pulmonary rehabilitation, including the ability to work with patients on cardiac telemetry and supplemental oxygen. ACLS certification is required within six months of hire.

Responsibilities:

  1. Completes physical therapy documentation, billing, and statistics per team guidelines. Manage daily caseload with efficiency and efficacy. Meets productivity standards per team guidelines.

  2. Administers tests and measures to assist in establishing a plan of care and interventions and manages resources to accomplish patient goals; Communicates relevant information to promote continuity of care.

  3. Mentors assistive personnel and delegates responsibilities as per licensing board guidelines.

  4. Provides clinical precepting and teaching for students and/or staff under the guidance of the clinical specialist or other subject matter experts. Provides regular feedback, coaching and mentoring. Evaluates the learner's performance.

  5. Assists in the planning and coordinating of clinical programs in collaboration with the clinical specialist or manager. Participates in continuous improvement in clinical services by attending and participating in departmental meetings and in-services.

  • Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapy program.

Licensure/Certification Requirements:

  • Licensed as a Physical Therapist in the state of North Carolina.

  • BLS within 3 months of hire date.

Professional Experience Requirements:

  • No prior experience required.

Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements:

  • Exhibits effective communication and interprofessional skills; requires physical stamina and repetitive movements, including, but not limited to, sitting, standing, kneeling, walking, and squatting during patient interventions while supporting one's weight; can engage in high-level problem-solving to ensure patient safety during mobilization.
