About The Role

  • Design and develop neutral beam injection systems, including ion sources, beam optics, vacuum system and beam dumps

  • Design high-voltage components (100 kV–1 MV class systems)

  • Develop thermal management solutions for high-power-density components

  • Collaborate with physicists to integrate beam line components in the NB injector

  • Prototyping, testing, and commissioning of beamline systems About You

  • Bachelor’s degree in design/mechanical engineering or related field

  • Experience with one or more:

  • Charged particle beam systems

  • Plasma sources (especially ion sources)

  • High-voltage engineering

  • Vacuum systems

  • Good knowledge of Solid Works or Catia

  • Familiarity with simulation tools:

  • COMSOL Multiphysics, ANSYS, or similar

  • 5-10 years professional experience in an engineering role (design, analysis, test or manufacturing) Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with neutral beam injection systems or fusion devices

  • Knowledge of:

  • RF ion sources or negative ion generation

  • High power flux dumps

  • Magnetic confinement systems (tokamaks, stellarators)

  • Hands-on experience with:

  • High-power test systems

  • Diagnostics (Langmuir probes, spectroscopy, beam diagnostics)

  • High voltage systems At TAE Technologies, we consider a wide range of factors when making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and job-related knowledge, training; licenses and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements depending on the position offered (non-Sr., Sr.,). The compensation range for these roles are $135,000 - $160,000.
