For more information, visit www.insituform.com. We are currently seeking a Safety Technician based out of our Cerritos office. This role will be responsible for providing safety oversight across multiple sites. Responsibilities Under the guidance of the Safety Manager, promote acceptance of sound safety practices and encourage full participation of all company personnel throughout operations. Build relationships with all levels of field employees to educate and balance environmental, health & safety requirements with production goals to ensure compliance with safety-related regulations, systems, and practices. Perform random inspections of job sites, facilities, equipment, vehicles, and investigations. Solve safety related problems on the work site. Immediately work to resolve identified problems by providing specific advice for correction actions to the General Superintendent, Superintendent, Foreman or other worker(s) as appropriate. Recommend safety-related programs, activities, and recognition for employees. Deliver various types of Environmental, Health & Safety training to all levels of employees. Qualifications Have or working toward an OHS certificate, diploma, university degree or related education. 2 or more years of related field experience in a construction environment. Must be able to work independently and take ownership of work. Familiar with office reporting and technical writing. Familiar with Federal and State Environmental, Health & Safety regulations. Previous experience with Safety COR audits and the ability to obtain COR Auditor certification. Willingness to travel up to 70% and to be on site at least 80% of the time. Exceptional communication skills as well as tact and diplomacy. Certification to perform training requirements such as HAZWOPER, Confined Space Entry. and Rescue and First Aid training. Driver’s license and clean drivers abstract. Ability to facilitate CPR.
