Full job description

Reporting to department physician leader(s) and administrator, responsible for facilitating project work by providing direction, leadership, and day-to-day management of department projects and initiatives. Must coordinate department projects, formulate needed enhancements for processes, and work with internal and external customers to successfully meet established goals and deadlines. Coordinator must demonstrate initiative, resourcefulness, and problem-solving skills in working independently to complete projects and assignments.

DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of healthcare quality improvement initiatives, population health management, and cardiometabolic or cardiovascular clinical programs.

  • Understanding of healthcare data reporting, performance metrics, quality measures, and data governance principles.

  • Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams consisting of physicians, clinical leaders, researchers, analysts, and external partners.

  • Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, timelines, and deliverables simultaneously.

  • Experience preparing meeting agendas, documenting minutes, tracking action items, and facilitating follow-up activities.

  • Ability to interpret and communicate data-related updates, project milestones, and performance results to both clinical and administrative stakeholders.

  • Knowledge of research administration, clinical trial coordination, or academic-health system collaborations preferred.

  • Familiarity with quality improvement collaboratives, benchmarking initiatives, and healthcare learning networks.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to develop leadership reports, status updates, and executive summaries.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion when handling sensitive clinical, operational, and research-related information.

  • Demonstrated ability to build effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders and serve as a liaison across diverse groups.

These KSAs align closely with the Steering Committee support, data coordination, AMGA collaborative participation, and reporting responsibilities outlined in the position description.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor's degree. One to three (1-3) years of project management/coordination experience preferred.

  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Ability to prioritize assignments, work independently, and meet deadlines.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills in Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
