Clinical Supervisor (Occupational Therapist or Speech-Language Pathologist)

Locations: Pawtucket & Lincoln, RI

Schedule: Full-Time

Caseload: 15 billable hours/week

Lead. Mentor. Inspire.

At Small Steps, we believe exceptional therapy starts with exceptional clinicians. We take a

neurodiversity-affirming, child-led, play-based approach to therapy. That means we honor each child’s individuality, follow their lead, and create meaningful, engaging experiences that support development in a way that feels natural and empowering. Our work is guided not only by clinical excellence but by respect, curiosity, and joy.

We're looking for an experienced Occupational Therapist, Speech-Language Pathologist, or Registered Dietitian who is passionate about mentoring others, fostering collaboration, and creating an environment where both clinicians and families thrive.

As a Clinical Supervisor, you will support our Pawtucket and Lincoln clinics, serving as a visible,

supportive leader for your teams while maintaining a small clinical caseload. This role is ideal for

someone who enjoys balancing direct patient care with leadership, quality improvement, and clinician development. You'll work closely with our Program Directors to cultivate a collaborative culture built on mentorship, clinical excellence, and compassionate care.

What You'll Do

·Lead & Support Your Clinical Teams

  • Provide direct and indirect supervision, mentorship, and performance management to clinicians across both clinics through regular coaching, feedback, and development meetings.

  • Foster a collaborative, high-performing team by supporting clinical decision-making, addressing

day-to-day concerns, and partnering with Program Directors to resolve complex issues.

  • Ensure Clinical Excellence

  • Ensure clinical quality by overseeing documentation, billing practices, and adherence to

organizational standards while reinforcing best practices and identifying opportunities for

clinician growth.

Oversee Daily Clinic Operations

  • Maintain an active presence in both Pawtucket and Lincoln clinics.

  • Lead day-to-day clinic operations, including clinic organization, supplies, clinician timesheets, and PTO coordination.

  • Partner with scheduling to proactively address staffing, productivity, cancellations, and coverage needs to ensure continuity of care.

What We're Looking For

  • Licensed Occupational Therapist (OTR/L), Speech-Language Pathologist (CCC-SLP), or Registered Dietitian

  • Pediatric clinical experience required

  • Previous leadership, mentoring, or supervisory experience preferred

  • Strong clinical reasoning and documentation skills

  • Excellent communication and conflict-resolution abilities

  • Organized, proactive, and solution-oriented

  • Passionate about clinician mentorship and creating positive team culture

  • Committed to neurodiversity-affirming, family-centered care

This position offers the opportunity to make an impact far beyond your own caseload. You'll help shape clinical excellence across two thriving pediatric clinics by mentoring clinicians, strengthening collaboration, improving quality of care, and supporting a team that values learning, creativity, and compassionate service.

If you're excited about helping great clinicians become even better while continuing to provide

meaningful therapy yourself, we'd love to meet you.
