Outreach is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Part-Time Recreation Counselor for our Men and Women Residential program located in Brentwood, Long Island. The Recreation Counselor is responsible for all aspects of client recreational activities including planning, documenting, and overseeing each function. The schedule for this position is 6 to 12 hours per week to be discussed. The hours are flexible and must be able to work holidays.
In this residential setting, you will: Provide supervised highly structured indoor and outdoor recreational activities to residents. Supervise highly structured indoor recreation in the weight room with residents. You will plan and oversee special events with residents and their families. Assist with providing scheduled activities for residents in orientation, early treatment, middle treatment, and late treatment phases of the program to the supervisor. Work with supervisor to provide daily group notes indicating activities and resident participation. You will actively participate in supervision and supervise residents in self- medication. Complete accurate reporting of incident reports, resident elopements, and crisis intervention and communicate all pertinent information/incidents/emergencies via SAC book/House Manager.
