SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Responsible to oversee and supervise day-to-day operations of the hospital facility department including assigning and ensuring timely and proper completion of work orders and preventative maintenance activities while maintaining safety. This position oversees the following trades and operations: plant engineering, electrical, electromechanical, plumbing, HVAC, refrigeration, general carpentry, and grounds. Reviews all purchase requests in advance to ensure proper inventory of supplies while maintaining budget. Prepares and distributes monthly staffing schedules and approves all staff time-off requests and completes regular performance evaluations for employees. Coordinates campus construction activities including all utility shutdown requests with departments and construction personnel to minimize impact to patient care areas and hospital operations. Develops a team oriented and innovative work atmosphere to support the organizational missions, goals and initiatives while improving efficiencies, reducing costs, meeting regulatory requirements and delivering high quality facilities services with best practice and sustainability considerations. This position will also provide 24/7 on-call coverage when required with occasional emergency response required during unscheduled times
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):
- Associates degree, or equivalent experience, plus five (5) years of related experience including two (2) years supervisory experience or six (6) years of related facilities maintenance experience including two (2) years supervisory experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION(S):

License or certification in one applicable trade preferred.

Experience working in healthcare preferred.

Health care building experience and successful interaction with other health care professionals in a professional environment preferred.
