Your Role at KIK

Join our team as a ** PLC Maintenance Technician on 1st Shift (7:00am – 4:00 am/pm, Monday-Friday with weekends per business need)** , where you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the optimal performance of machinery and equipment. We are looking for an experienced and motivated PLC Maintenance Technician to join our manufacturing team. This role is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial automation and control systems. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge of electrical systems, PLCs, HMIs, sensors, and related equipment used in automated production environments. This position has a base hourly rate of $33.00–$36.00.

What You’ll Do

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and maintain industrial automation and electrical control systems, including PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, sensors, relays, motor controls, and associated equipment

  • Program, modify, and optimize PLC and HMI applications (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Mitsubishi, Omron) to improve equipment performance, reliability, and production efficiency

  • Perform routine, preventive, predictive, and emergency troubleshooting on automated manufacturing equipment and process control systems

  • Analyze electrical, pneumatic, and control system issues to minimize downtime and restore production quickly and safely

  • Read, interpret, and update electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, P&IDs, control drawings, and technical documentation

  • Support automation, capital improvement, and equipment upgrade projects, including controls design, programming, installation, testing, and commissioning

  • Collaborate with Maintenance, Engineering, Operations, and Production teams to identify root causes, implement corrective actions, and improve equipment reliability

  • Maintain and back up PLC programs, HMI applications, electrical drawings, and control system documentation to ensure configuration control

  • Ensure control systems comply with company safety standards and applicable electrical codes and regulations

  • Support preventive and predictive maintenance programs for electrical and automation systems

  • Train maintenance technicians and production personnel on equipment operation, troubleshooting, and best practices for automated systems

  • Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities that increase equipment uptime, quality, safety, and operational efficiency

What You’ll Bring

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree or technical certification in Electrical Engineering Technology, Industrial Automation, Mechatronics, or Electronics preferred

  • Two or more years of experience troubleshooting and maintaining PLC-controlled equipment in a manufacturing or industrial environment

  • Experience programming and troubleshooting PLC platforms such as Allen-Bradley (Studio 5000/RSLogix 5000), Siemens, Omron, Mitsubishi, or similar systems

  • Hands-on experience with HMIs, VFDs, servo systems, motion controls, SCADA systems, and industrial automation equipment

  • Knowledge of industrial communication networks and protocols, including Ethernet/IP, DeviceNet, Modbus, Profibus, or Profinet

  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, motor controls, power distribution, control panels, instrumentation, and safety circuits

  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, ladder logic, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation

  • Working knowledge of OSHA, NEC, NFPA 70E, and applicable electrical safety standards

  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and root cause problem-solving skills

  • Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills with the ability to work independently and across cross-functional teams

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) preferred

  • Willingness to work overtime, weekends, holidays, rotating shifts, or respond to emergency equipment issues as business needs require
