If you want to do the most meaningful work of your career, help our customers and partners advance their AI strategies, and be part of a high-performing team that believes in each other, come build with us at Crusoe.

About This Role:

As an Application Engineer III, you will serve as the primary technical interface between our Estimating, Customer, and Engineering/Manufacturing teams. In this role, you will drive the initial project phase by defining technical scopes of work, generating preliminary electrical and mechanical designs, and directly supporting the estimating process for custom power, control, and modular building solutions.

The ideal candidate brings a strong engineering foundation, hands-on experience with power distribution, and a collaborative mindset to bridge commercial requests with executable manufacturing plans. You possess a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, at least 3 years of experience in a manufacturing or project environment, and a solid grasp of NEC codes and low/medium voltage power distribution systems.

What You'll Be Working On:

  • Customer Scope Definition: Directly engage with customers and the estimating team to define electrical scopes of work and translate complex client requirements into clear, concise technical specifications for custom equipment.

  • Estimating Support: Prepare accurate, competitive cost estimates and technical proposals, ensuring complete alignment between customer expectations and internal manufacturing capabilities.

  • Preliminary Design Deliverables: Create initial electrical design documents for proposals and project handoffs, including one-line diagrams, preliminary control schematics, and detailed bills of materials (BOMs).

  • Material Accuracy Confirmation: Verify the technical accuracy and cost-effectiveness of quoted project materials by thoroughly reviewing vendor bid packages and submittals.

  • Electrical Component Sizing: Specify and size appropriate electrical components in strict accordance with applicable codes and project guidelines.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Facilitate a seamless transition from the proposal/submittal stage to the design engineering phase by collaborating closely with Estimating, Project Management, and Design Engineering teams.

What You'll Bring to the Team:

  • Educational Foundation: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.

  • Relevant Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing, construction, or project environment, including 1+ years focused on applications, project estimating, or technical sales.

  • Power Systems Knowledge: Solid understanding of low-voltage and medium-voltage power distribution systems, control panels, and associated equipment.

  • Schematic & Diagram Interpretation: Proven ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.

  • Regulatory & Code Compliance: Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and relevant industry standards.

  • Software & CAD Proficiency: Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and computer-aided design (CAD) software to document electrical schematics and one-line diagrams.

  • Relationship Management: Exceptional interpersonal skills to build and maintain effective working relationships with production personnel, electrical technicians, and estimating partners.

  • Self-Directed Work Ethic: Ability to manage and prioritize multiple concurrent projects effectively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Safety & Compliance: This position is designated a safety-sensitive position and/or is located in a safety-sensitive facility. Drug and alcohol program participation is required.

  • Value Alignment: Resonate deeply with Crusoe's values and desire to embody them daily.

Bonus Points:

  • Experience with modular building construction, industrial controls, and automation systems.

  • Familiarity with maintaining compliance to UL standards.

  • Hands-on experience with QA/QC, Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), and associated technical documentation.

Benefits:

  • Competitive compensation and equity packages

  • Restricted Stock Units

  • Paid time off, paid holidays & leave of absence programs

  • Comprehensive health, dental & vision insurance

  • Employer contributions to HSA account
