Description

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

The Pipe Foreman will maintain constant and clear communication with management, client, QC and their crew on a daily basis they are also responsible for coordinating daily activities for pipe installations, alignment, layout and welding operations. Must be able to interpret blueprint / P&IDs, maintain pipe system and daily safety compliance.

TYPICAL DUTIES:

  • Read blueprints and specifications to determine the scope of work: locations, quantities, and sizes of materials required

  • Manage crew processes, scheduling, costs, employee relations issues, and employment needs.

  • Identify all tools required for tasks.

  • Identify safety risks and the precautions required to eliminate those risks.

  • Illustrate in-depth knowledge of all pipe fitting processes.

  • Tactically plan operations for scheduling workloads in crews efficiently utilizing assets and resources to minimize cost.

  • Ensure all QA/QC requirements are met on assigned projects.

  • Attend and represent the company on bid walks and potential projects.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Must have 5+ years’ experience with pipefitting processes for industrial construction, maintenance or new construction.

  • 3+ years’ experience in a supervisory role.

  • Good understanding of the craft environment being supervised and knowledge of basic hand tools.

  • Must be able to pass the Craft Skills Test at or above 70% or have the NCCER certification for your craft.

  • Must have a good understanding of Matrix Service policies and procedures.

  • Must complete the Matrix Service Safety training, Process Safety Management training and Client / Site specific training.

  • Obtain and maintain active status within the required drug testing program

  • Subject to random drug screening.

  • Must pass a Background check.

  • TWIC card is required.

PHYSICAL/SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Employee will be required to adhere to large amounts of standing, walking, bending, squatting, sitting and lifting.

  • Will talk and hear to communicate.

  • Will use arms and hands to signal, grab, hold, turn, push, and pull objects, materials, controls and tools.

  • May be required to pick up, lift, carry and move up to 50lbs.

  • Will work at heights, climb ladders and stairways, and may occasionally work off of platforms/scaffolding using the appropriate fall protection requirements.

  • Must be able to work in all weather conditions (including heat, rain, cold and wind) while wearing appropriate PPE
