Full job description

  • Oversee site activities to ensure alignment with established EHS goals and objectives (Berea and Parma, OH; Skokie, IL)

  • Support the implementation and maintenance of EHS policies and procedures in accordance with corporate, local, state, and federal regulations.

  • Champion a strong safety culture and foster employee engagement across the organization.

  • Utilize established EHS data systems to manage and report key metrics, including injuries and illnesses, environmental performance, risk assessments, and corrective actions. Analyze safety data to guide continuous improvement efforts.

  • Conduct regular audits to identify existing or potential hazards and ensure timely completion of recommended corrective and preventive actions.

  • Verify that contractors and subcontractors maintain effective safety programs through pre-qualification reviews and routine jobsite visits or audits.

  • Develop and maintain facility-specific management plans for hazardous and non-hazardous waste materials.

  • Facilitate required training or coordinate training sessions with third-party providers as needed.

  • Support incident investigations by gathering data, conducting root cause analyses, identifying corrective actions, and reporting.

  • Lead and organize teams to identify and implement safety improvements, waste reduction strategies, and resource conservation initiatives.

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, or a related field plus 5 years of experience, or 7 years of proven progressive Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) experience.

  • Demonstrated experience implementing and maintaining EHS programs in compliance with OSHA, EPA, and applicable state and local regulations.

  • Strong knowledge of health, safety, environmental, and risk management principles, including incident investigation, root cause analysis, hazard identification, and corrective action management.

  • Experience conducting safety audits, inspections, risk assessments, and contractor safety management.

  • Proven ability to analyze EHS metrics and use data to drive continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills with the ability to influence employees at all levels of the organization.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience using EHS management systems preferred.

  • OSHA 30-Hour General Industry certification preferred; additional professional certifications (e.g., CSP, ASP, CHMM) are a plus.

  • RCRA training certification, including experience with managing hazardous and non-hazardous waste streams and EPA reporting.

  • Managing and reporting experience for annual EPA programs – SARA 311, 312, and 313 reports; Stormwater program management; POTW permits and reporting.
