Description
The Test Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and executing test plans to ensure the quality and functionality of our products. The role will work cross-functionally to identify and resolve defects and ensure that products meet performance, reliability and user experience standards.

Derive / verify customer test specifications

Maintain and utilize computer software programs for test data acquisition, reduction, plotting and tracking

Plan and conduct tests of Diesel Engines, Cross drive transmissions, and other Powertrain equipment

Write and maintain and make improvements to Renk test procedures and standards.

Prepare test documentation and customer presentations.

Design and specify control systems for test cell operation, test fixtures and test equipment including system design, software and sensor selection, panel lay-out and schematic development.

Work with test technicians in the operation and maintenance / upgrade of test equipment.

Introduce new concepts for test engineering.

Work closely with internal test customers.
Level / pay for this position will be commensurate with education and experience.
Position Requirements

Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering or related field with 2 years prior related experience.

Associates Degree in a Technical field with 6 year prior related experience.

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
-
Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Substantial experience with system control methodologies and technologies and the acquisition of electronic control system data.

Demonstrated knowledge of test equipment and methods including data acquisition and instrumentation.

User Level Experience with National Instruments Labview and OPTO 22 software/hardware systems.

Experience post-processing data using Excel and/or MATLAB/Simulink preferred.

Ability to work well with internal and external customers and Government representatives.

Strong Interpersonal skills.

Ability to get security clearance required.

Must be able to move freely, with or without accommodation, throughout the manufacturing environment.
