About the Engineering Assistant role

The Engineering Assistant is a field role that will provide hands-on and technical support to engineers and other staff, assisting with the development and implementation of engineering, manufacturing, and maintenance projects. This role will involve a wide range of responsibilities, including research, data collection and analysis, design drafting (AutoCAD), and document preparation. The Field Engineering Assistant will also provide hands-on support for equipment assembly, maintenance and operation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide technical assistance to engineers.

  • Perform research and analysis of engineering data.

  • Create and maintain engineering documents (AutoCAD).

  • Assist in the development and implementation of engineering projects.

  • Verify the accuracy of engineering calculations.

  • Support the research and development of new engineering designs.

  • Work with Technicians on the assembly and repair of equipment.

  • Familiar with 12VDC Systems, relays, PLC knowledge a plus, but not necessary

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in engineering or equivalent work experience.

  • Minimum 3 to 5 yrs. experience in a manufacturing and or maintenance environment.

  • Strong knowledge of engineering principles and practices.

  • Intimate knowledge of AutoCAD software.

  • Good problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Able to lift to 50 lbs.

  • Required to walk, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, lift, grasp, carry, push, and pull.

  • Must be able to pass airport badge screening process.

Other Skills and Qualifications

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Willing to work in non-climate-controlled conditions.

  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office Suite—Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Teams.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to prioritize.

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

  • Ability to travel (average 25% to 40%)
