Job Description Summary:

To facilitate communication via interpreting all information between the instructor and the hard of hearing and/or deaf student. Knowledge of deaf culture and cultural norms is expected.

Continuous recruitment for this position.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Documentation of skill level and/or certification in using American Sign Language( ASL ).

  • Interpreting experience at the high school and/or college level.

Job Requirements:

  • Must be available to work during the Spring/Summer/Fall semester.

  • Must be available to work flexible daytime and/or evening hours.

  • Must be willing to work on the Largo campus and at all extension centers.

  • Must be dependable and responsible.

  • Ability to communicate effectively in spoken and written standard English.

  • As required by the 1986 Immigration Act, be prepared to present acceptable documentation showing your identity and that you are a U.S. citizen or an alien who is authorized to work.
