Important skills include Trauma-Informed Approach, Communication, Relationship Building, Organized, Detail-Oriented, and Database Management. Preferred (not required): Healthcare Systems Familiarity and CNA Career Trajectories Familiarity.

Position: CRED NYC Job Developer, SkillSpring
Location: Multiple Sites in Manhattan & the Bronx
Salary Range: $65,000 to $ 70,000 per annum
Reports to: CRED NYC Program Director, SkillSpring

SkillSpring, a workforce development program of The New Jewish Home, has supported New York City youth and young adults from under-resourced schools and communities in pursuing careers in health care since 2006. By training the next generation of high-quality, culturally competent health care professionals, SkillSpring generates excitement and enthusiasm for careers serving older adults.
Position Overview:
The New Jewish Home’s SkillSpring program seeks a dynamic, mission-driven Job Developer to lead employment, internship, and career placement efforts for participants in the Community Resources for Employment and Development Program (“CRED NYC”) Program. Reporting to the CRED NYC Director, the Job Developer will connect Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) participants to high-quality, paid work experiences with partner employers and support job readiness, placement, and long-term retention. This full-time role will require close collaboration with case managers, training instructors, employer partners, and workforce systems to ensure successful participant outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain relationships with employer partners in the long-term care and healthcare sectors to expand CNA internship and employment opportunities.

Conduct one-on-one job readiness sessions with participants to assess interests, develop employment goals, and create individualized job search plans.

Match participants with clinical rotations, internships, and jobs aligned with their training, career goals, and geographic preferences.

Facilitate workforce readiness workshops focused on interviewing skills, professional communication, workplace behavior, and understanding employer expectations.

Support job placement by coaching participants on applications, resumes, and interview preparation; guide onboarding and post-placement success.

Collaborate with internal staff to monitor participant progress and provide follow-up support for three months post-placement to ensure retention.

Maintain an organized database of internship and employment opportunities; ensure accurate tracking of placements, employer feedback, and retention metrics.

Provide regular reports and contribute to performance tracking, meeting all DYCD and CRED NYC reporting requirements.

Represent SkillSpring in job fairs, networking events, and peer learning communities.

Perform other duties as required to advance participant success.
Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree preferred in Health Administration, Human Resources, Social Work, Career Development, or a related field.

At least 3–5 years of experience in job development, workforce development, or career services, ideally with youth or adult learners from underserved communities.

Familiarity with healthcare systems and CNA career trajectories strongly preferred.

Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and Saturdays; must be comfortable traveling to partner sites throughout NYC.
Specialized Skills and Competencies:

Trauma-informed approach and deep understanding of employment barriers faced by systemically marginalized communities.

Strong communication and relationship-building skills with both participants and employers.

Organized and detail-oriented with demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

Skilled in database management, tracking participant outcomes, and producing reports.

Empathetic, collaborative, and committed to supporting the economic mobility of New Yorkers through high-quality workforce pathways.
Physical Demands:
-
The role requires normal mental and visual attention, along with manual coordination.

Work is performed in lighted, heated, and ventilated areas, with occasional interruptions to workflow.

Duties involve regular periods of sitting, standing, or walking and the ability to work at a computer for sustained periods.

Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Travel to all TNJH campuses and program sites is required.
