Olive Jobs vs LinkedIn Jobs (2026): A Network or a Search
One is about who you know and who can find you. The other is about the work you do alone before you apply.
Pick LinkedIn if people are your way in: a network, recommendations and messages to hiring managers are what it does and what Olive Jobs doesn't. Pick Olive Jobs if you want help with the part you do alone, which is finding openings by describing them, reading your fit for one posting, tailoring the résumé and rehearsing the interview out loud.
These two overlap little unless you pay for Premium, so this page is less about which to choose and more about which job each one does. Keep your LinkedIn profile either way. Premium's prices and limits here are as of November 2026.
The two side by side
| Feature | Olive Jobs | |
|---|---|---|
| Who can find you | Nobody. Olive has no public profile and no recruiter side, and your résumé stays private to your account. | Your profile is the point. A basic account lets you reconnect with colleagues and classmates and exchange recommendations. |
| Reaching people | No network, social feed or recruiter messaging. | InMail reaches people outside your network on Premium Career. |
| Finding jobs | 1,535,800+ US and US-remote roles open right now, asked for by voice or in text. | Describe the role in your own words, filter the results and turn on alerts. |
| Fit for one job | A fit tier, any stated requirements you're missing, strengths, gaps and next steps. No percentage. | AI insights on job posts on Premium Career. |
| Résumé | Build by talking or upload for a review, then tailor to a posting with each rewritten bullet shown before and after. Export to DOCX or PDF. | Profile writing help on Premium Career. The profile, not a résumé, is what it centers on. |
| Interview practice | Spoken, from any posting, pasted description or role you name, on a free account with limits, with a scored review. | AI interview prep, out loud or typed, needs Premium and covers jobs where LinkedIn rates you a top, high or medium match. English only, and still rolling out. |
What a send button means on each
LinkedIn's Easy Apply happens on LinkedIn, and a plain Apply button sends you to the employer's site. Which one you see is up to the employer. The same help page says you can't edit or withdraw an application once it's submitted through LinkedIn, and that any change means contacting the job poster through InMail.
That makes the work before the button matter more. Olive's part of this is that work: check your fit, tailor the résumé to that posting with each rewritten bullet shown so you can keep, edit or revert it, and then apply wherever the job lives. Our guide to finding jobs with AI goes through the whole sequence.
LinkedIn also labels jobs a hirer has paid to promote, which may rank higher based on your profile, skills and activity. Nothing on Olive is paid for by an employer, which also means no hirer is on Olive to notice you.
What's free and what Premium adds
| What it costs | Olive Jobs | |
|---|---|---|
| Without paying | Free to use, with limits. Search, saved jobs, job alerts, résumé uploads, edits and downloads of your résumés are open on every plan. Searching needs no account. | A basic account covers your network and recommendations, and lets you save up to three searches with weekly alerts. |
| Paid plan | Plus is $19/month, cancel anytime. | Premium Career is US$39.99 a month or US$239.88 a year, before any tax. |
| Fit reads | 5 fit evaluations a month on Free. 300 fit evaluations a month on Plus. | Listed as a Premium Career feature. |
| Practice interviews | 2 practice interviews a month on Free. 20 practice interviews a month on Plus. | |
| Messaging hiring managers | Not something Olive does. | 5 InMail credits a month on Premium Career. |
What each one leaves undone
| Area | Olive Jobs | |
|---|---|---|
| Getting to people | It can't. No referrals, no recruiter inbox, no way for a hirer to see you. | Direct messages to people outside your network sit on the paid plan, and so do fit insights and interview prep. |
| After you apply | It tracks status, notes, interview dates and a follow-up reminder, but it has no contact with the employer. | LinkedIn's help page says you can't edit or withdraw an application once it's submitted through LinkedIn. |
| Reach and ranking | US and US-remote roles only. | Promoted jobs may rank higher, so a high spot can be one a hirer paid for. |
When to pick LinkedIn instead
- The roles you want get filled through referrals and people you know.
- You want recruiters to come to you.
- You want to message a hiring manager directly and are willing to pay for it.
- You want LinkedIn Learning's courses as part of your plan.
- You're searching outside the United States.
If you only do one thing on this list, keep the profile current. It costs nothing, and Olive doesn't replace it.
When you'd reach for Olive
You've got the network side handled, or you don't have one yet, and what you need is to work through postings and get ready. How Olive works explains each step. LinkedIn's own interview prep sits on Premium and depends on how it rates your match, while Olive's practice takes any posting or role on a free account, with limits. Our job search strategy guide covers how to split your time between applying and reaching out.

Quick answers
Should I use Olive Jobs or LinkedIn?
You can use both, because they overlap little unless you pay for Premium. Keep a LinkedIn profile so people can find and reach you. Use Olive Jobs to decide which postings fit, tailor the résumé and practice for the interview.
Does Olive Jobs replace a LinkedIn profile?
No. Olive Jobs has no public profile, professional network, social feed or recruiter messaging, so nobody can find you there. Your résumé stays private to your account.
Can I withdraw a LinkedIn Easy Apply application?
LinkedIn's help page says you can't edit or withdraw an application once it's submitted through LinkedIn, and that changes mean contacting the job poster through InMail. That makes it worth tailoring your résumé before you send one.
Does LinkedIn have AI interview practice?
Yes, on Premium. LinkedIn's help page describes AI interview prep built from a job description, spoken or typed, for jobs where it rates you a top, high or medium match. It's English only for now and still rolling out. On Olive Jobs, a free account includes practice, with limits.
Do I need LinkedIn Premium to check my fit for a job?
LinkedIn lists AI-powered insights on job posts, including assessing your fit, as a Premium Career feature. Olive Jobs compares your profile to one posting on a free account, with limits, and returns a fit tier rather than a percentage.
