Full job description
NVIDIA is at the heart of AI, accelerated computing, and the systems that power them. We are hiring a Senior Engineer to design and build robust software for accelerated computing systems. You will solve challenging technical problems, contribute to architecture decisions, improve engineering practices, and collaborate with partners across NVIDIA. We’re seeking engineers who identify meaningful opportunities, approach problems with analytical rigor, and consistently deliver results in a fast-paced setting.
What you’ll be doing:
- Design, implement, and maintain software systems that combine hardware, software, workload, and deployment assumptions to evaluate data center-level power, TCO, and performance trade-offs.
- Contribute to software design decisions by prototyping and evaluating solutions and incorporating feedback from stakeholders.
- Strengthen engineering quality through effective testing, regression coverage, and operational practices.
- Collaborate across teams to define clear interfaces and enable efficient development.
- Make hands-on contributions to complex technical problems, help diagnose, and resolve issues.
- Participate in building and code reviews, share knowledge, and help teammates adopt effective software and engineering practices.
What we need to see:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Applied Mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent experience. An MS or PhD is preferred.
- 6+ years of experience in Python or other modern programming languages.
- Experience developing and maintaining technical software systems with strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
- Ability to learn quickly and work effectively in a dynamic environment and apply new technologies and approaches.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
Ways to stand out from the crowd:
- Comfort navigating ambiguous problem spaces, learning from source code and primary papers, prototyping quickly, and adapting based on evidence.
- Background in performance analysis, executive dashboards, or quantitative modeling for accelerated systems. Experience working close to hardware or at large scale is a plus.
- Track record of turning real-world inputs into structured, reliable software.
- Experience helping teammates learn and adopt new technologies while continuing to deliver.
- Good judgment about systems build and openness to revising your views as new information emerges.
Your base salary will be determined based on your location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions. The base salary range is 184,000 USD - 287,500 USD for Level 4, and 224,000 USD - 356,500 USD for Level 5. You will also be eligible for equity and benefits.
